Rudy Project introduces Wingdream new time trial helmet makes its debut exceptional aerodynamic values

The preview will be launched during the Tirreno-Adriatico and the Paris-Nice with the athletes of Team Bahrain Victorious: the newest time trial helmet from Rudy Project
will be used in a masked version.

Rudy Project is thrilled to announce that on Monday, March 4, the "Wingdream" time trial helmet will debut in competition, marking the latest innovation in the world of cycling from the Northeast Italy-based brand.

Wingdream is the result of over two years of research and development, carried out in close collaboration with Team Bahrain Victorious, of which Rudy Project has been a technical supplier since its inception.

The new helmet aims to redefine efficiency standards, thanks to aerodynamic performance that has amazed in the company's internal tests. With an energy saving of 15.7 watts (at a speed of 45 km/h), the new helmet has outperformed various other products used as benchmarks. This represents a significant improvement, even compared to the already high-performing "The Wing" helmet that preceded it in Rudy Project's catalog and in supplies to road bike and triathlon professionals, with whom the brand is a partner.

The helmet was originally scheduled to debut in May at the Giro d’Italia, where it will indeed be first seen in its official colors. However, given the results of wind tunnel tests and on-road trials, Team Bahrain Victorious requested its availability for the early season races and will unveil a version with a special camouflaged livery next week.

There will be two appearances: at the individual time trial in Lido di Camaiore that opens the Tirreno-Adriatico on Monday, March 4; and again, at the team time trial in Auxerre the following day, during the third stage of the Paris-Nice.

The Wingdream development process included a long series of road tests, using advanced technology sensors to analyze the helmet's surface geometry in relation to the cyclist's position on the bike, followed by wind tunnel tests.

Rudy Project has long used aerodynamic studies and firmly believes in the utility of the wind tunnel to translate its research and development work into concrete data. For the Italian-based company, the wind tunnel is a fundamental tool through which to improve the performance of athletes and of consumers who will purchase the product.

The camouflaged livery, visible in the attached photos, still masks the details of the final design, which will be revealed at the official presentation in May. Rudy Project sees it as a milestone in its relentless pursuit of cycling performance. The Wingdream will then be available to the public for purchase by the end of 2024.
