Rüsselsheim. #Opel is increasing its involvement in football. The #Opel CUP 2018, a mini-tournament with international teams, takes place for the first time on Sunday, August 5, from 1.00 p.m. CET, at the #Opel ARENA in Mainz, thus opening the new football season. The new German Bundesliga season begins on August 24. The teams playing for the #Opel CUP 2018 are the hosts and Bundesliga team, 1. FSV #mainz05, AC Florence from the Italian Serie A and Athletic Bilbao from the Spanish La Liga. #Opel is the presenter and title #sponsor of the new tournament and will display its newest models around the stadium. German free-TV channel SWR will broadcast the #Opel CUP 2018 live.
In the #Opel CUP 2018, three top teams play each for 45 minutes. The stadium carries Opel’s name since one year. #Opel is the exclusive partner of 1. FSV #mainz05 since 2012. During the #Opel CUP 2018 on August 5 the famous #Opel lightning flash logo will appear on the LED hoardings in the stadium and on all communication platforms.
