On Friday 20 January at 20:00, the Brussels Motor Show was at fever pitch. To mark Stoffel Vandoorne’s signing with DS Automobiles in the #abbfiaformulae championship, the reigning champion made a dramatic entrance right into the heart of the Parc des Expositions in the Belgian capital. Now a DS PENSKE driver, #stoffelvandoorne arrived on the stand of the Stellantis group’s premium manufacturer at the wheel of a #dsetensefe21 that was decorated in Belgium’s national colours. It was another highlight in the career of a single-seater that has proved victorious since its very first race in Rome in 2021, and which brought down the curtain on the GEN2 era for DS: the manufacturer that holds the record for the most podiums in Formula E and was a double title winner (both teams and drivers) in 2019 as well as 2020.
To celebrate their new partnership in Formula E from season 9 onwards, which got underway in Mexico on 14 January, DS Automobiles gave the Belgian DS PENSKE driver the keys to a New DS 7 E-TENSE 4x4 360 in Opéra Bleu Saphir, complete with a #stoffelvandoorne logo.
Fine-tuned by DS Performance, the New DS 7 E-TENSE4x4 360 benefits directly from the expertise of the French manufacturer and the titles won in Formula E. This sporting DS7 uses a rechargeable hybrid powerplant that puts out 360 horsepower, coupled to intelligent four-wheel drive transmission, a wider track at the front and rear, ride height lowered by 15cm and wide diameter brakes within the imposing 21-inch wheels. All that equipment gives it admirable roadholding and the sort of performance that puts it right into GT territory. The New DS 7 E-TENSE 4x4 360 enjoys a 0-100kph acceleration time of just 5.6 seconds.
Both on the world’s Formula E circuits as well as on everyday roads, the reigning champion can now benefit from the latest advanced E-TENSE technology created by #dsautomobiles The next races in Season 9 of the #abbfiaformulae world championship will take place in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, on 27 and 28 January. Reinforced by an exceptional duo of drivers in the shape of reigning champion #stoffelvandoorne, and Jean-Eric Vergne – the only two-time world champion in the history of the series – the championship’s most decorated marque has a clear ambition to win even more titles.
