The curators Chiara Bertola and Davide Ferri in dialogue with the art critic Elio Grazioli

On the occasion of the group show Glitch (November 8th, 2023 - January 27th, 2024), BUILDING hosts a talk with the curators Chiara Bertola and Davide Ferri and the art critic Elio Grazioli.

The dialogue will unfold from some of the suggestions that gave rise to the exhibition, including: the idea of a stretch mark or "de-coincidence" in the relationship between image and support; the image and its physical and material presence; the relationship between the painting and the viewer's points of view, between its energy field and the space in which it is placed. Moreover, in a broader perspective, the speakers will address some aspects of painting of our time, in particular the idea of the "return of the medium" in the light of the present and of our recent history.

Focused on contemporary painting, the exhibition Glitch presents a selection of twenty-four paintings by ten Italian and international artists from different generations: Simon Callery (London, 1960), Angela de la Cruz (A Coruña, 1965), Peggy Franck (Zevenaar, 1978), Pinot Gallizio (Alba, 1902-1964), Mary Heilmann (San Francisco, 1940), Ilya (Dnepropetrovsk,1933- 2023) & Emilia (Dnepropetrovsk 1945) Kabakov, Andrea Kvas (Trieste, 1986), Maria Morganti (Milan, 1965), Farid Rahimi (Lausanne, 1974), Alejandra Seeber (Beunos Aires, 1969).
