FESTKA introduces the Elements design series with the new Spectre model in a fire design

FESTKA, the Czech manufacturer of high-end carbon bicycle frames based in Prague, introduces Elements - a new concept project composed of four design schemes representing Fire, Water, Earth and Air. The first of the four designs presented is the fire on the new Festka Spectre Elements Fire.

“Fire catalyses change, water nourishes life, earth keeps us grounded and air enables us to communicate. It’s this delicate balance of cosmos in which we do what we love most - ride our bikes,” comments Michael Moureček, Festka’s co-founder, the idea behind the project that originated 100% in-house.

First up of the four design schemes is Fire, the element representing the untamed spirit among its cohort. It is the spark of dynamic energy, a primal force that dances on the edge of chaos. Unlike its elemental counterparts, fire is fleeting, elusive, and ever-changing. To capture its spirit, graphic designer and Festka art director Tom Hnida has chosen candy paints - the translucent, pigment-free colours that, when applied in gradient layers over metallic undercoating, create an unparalleled depth of hue which ranges from champagne to rusty orange to dark brown here. The application requires enormous skill on the part of the painter who has to keep a steady hand, especially when covering complicated shapes such as the bottom bracket shell and other joints on the frame. As a symbol of fire, Tom used the alchemical symbol for the element - an upwards-pointing triangle.

The model FESTKA chose to present the scheme is its new Spectre - the stiffest and most explosive frame in the brand's portfolio. “It pushes the limits of our technology of building bikes from filament wound carbon tubes further than we ever thought possible,” says Michael Moureček.

“Spectre’s audacious silhouette lends itself perfectly to bold design schemes such as the Elements concept,” adds Tom Hnida.

The FESTKA Spectre Elements Fire package including the following components is priced at 18.490 EUR (incl. VAT); 16.440 USD (excl. VAT); 13.290 GBP (excl. VAT).

The bike comes with a painted saddle, stem and handlebars.
